INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 3 cups raw shrimp (cleaned / deveined)
- 2 tbsp Ghee/ Clarified Butter
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 cups Chopped Onion
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 2 Chopped Tomato
- 3 Serrano Pepper/ Green Chilies
- 1/2 Cup Mint
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup Coconut milk
- 2 3/4 cup water
- Cilantro chopped
Powder:
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 or 2 tsp Red Chili Pepper Powder
- 2 tsp Coriander/ Dhaniya Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 or 2 Bay Leaves
- 3 Cloves
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 1 Cardamom
- 2 Star Anise
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
STEP BY STEP VIDEO :
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Rinse and soak the Basmati Rice for 20 minutes. Clean and devein the shrimp.
- Turn On Instant Pot - Saute Mode More
- Add ghee and oil.
- Once the ghee is hot, add Bay Leaves, Cloves, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Star Anise, and Cumin Seeds
- Add Chopped Onions, Saute until onion turns into light brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste, Chopped Tomato, mint leaves and Serrano Peppers, Saute until tomato gets soft.
- Add Shrimp and saute for a minute
- Add Salt, Turmeric Powder, Red Chili Pepper Powder, Coriander Powder and Garam Masala Powder. Give it a mix.
- Add Soaked and Drained Rice with 1/4 cup coconut milk and 2 3/4 cups of water. (1cup rice - 1.5 cup liquid)
- Close the lid with Sealing position, Cancel Saute Mode, Change to Manual/Pressure 5 minutes High Pressure.
- Open the lid after natural pressure release.
- Garnish with Cilantro and give a gentle mix.
- Yummy Shrimp Biryani is Ready.
NOTE:
- Here I used Instant Pot 6 qt Duo.
- You can use Raw or Cooked Shrimp.
- Adjust red chili powder based on your spice level.
