Instant Pot Moong Dal Halwa | Yellow Lentil Sweet Recipe
This is one pot recipe.  Pasi Paruppu Halwa recipe in instant pot.  This is easy to make and so delicious. It needs only 4 Ingredients.

Instant Pot Moong Dal Halwa



INGREDIANTS:
  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup ghee /clarified butter
  • pinch of salt
  • cardamom powder (optional)
  • crushed nuts to garnish

Instant Pot Moong Dal Halwa

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Turn on instant pot saute mode.  Add moong dal and saute for 7 to 10 minutes, until it changes into light brown.
  • Add water, use  moong dal 1: 2 water ratio.
  • Close the instant pot with sealing position.  Set high pressure for 15 minutes.
  • Open the lid after natural pressure release.
  • Mash dal, then add sugar, ghee, cardamom powder and pinch of salt. Mix them all.
  • Turn on saute mode again, now the mixture looks watery, but it will be ok.
  • Keep stirring for up to 7 to 10 minutes, until it oozes out ghee and it will be little thick.  Keep it in low saute mode to avoid burning at the bottom.
  • Turn off IP, and take the inner pot out to avoid further cooking, and it won't get burned at the bottom.
  • Garnish with chopped nuts.  Delicious  Moong Dal Halwa is Ready!

NOTE:
  • Here I used Instant pot 6qt DUO.
  • Halwa will be thick, if you keep it in the refrigerator.  You can keep it microwave and serve it hot.
