Cracked Wheat Upma is healthy, delicious and nourishing breakfast or dinner. Cracked wheat is also called as dalia or samba rava or broken wheat and is called as godhuma rava in Telugu. Broken wheat upma is healthier than the semolina or Rava upma.
You must try this delicious and quick recipe in instant pot. Broken wheat is suitable for weight loss or a diabetic breakfast.

- 3 cup water
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped green beans
- 1/4 cup frozen green peas
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 4 green chilies (adjust to taste)
- Salt (adjust to taste)
- Ghee (optional)

- Tadka / Tempering:
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds

- Turn On Instant Pot - Saute Mode
- Once the pot is hot, add 3 tbsp of oil.
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, and hing - wait until it splutters.
- Add chopped onions, green chilies and ginger - Saute until turns into golden brown.
- Add frozen peas and cracked wheat - Saute for a minute.
- Add salt and water. Mix it all together.
- Close the lid with a sealing position.
- Cancel Saute mode, Set high pressure 3 minutes.
- Open the lid after quick release
- Add ghee to enhance flavors and chopped cilantro. Gently mix it.
