Lapsi Halwa is a sweet dish made with roasted broken wheat or cracked wheat or gothuma rava or Dalia and sweetened with jaggery.
It gives nice aroma with ghee, nuts and flavored with cardamom. This is the perfect sweet prepared during festival times. It is easy to make with instant pot, no need to monitor or it won't burn at the bottom.
Using jaggery instead of sugar gives a healthier twist to the dessert. This cracked wheat sweet is perfect for celebrations.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup cracked wheat
- 1/2 cup jaggery / brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp nuts sliced (cashews, pistachios, and almonds)

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Turn on instant pot saute mode, when it displays hot, add ghee.
- Add cracked wheat, roast till it becomes light brown and fragrant or upto 4 minutes. Keep stiring to avoid burning.
- Add sliced nuts, saute for 30 secs.
- Add water, jaggery and cardamom powder. Mix it well.
- Close the lid with sealing position and cancel saute mode.
- Set High Pressure 10 minutes.
- Open the lid after natural pressure release.
- Mix it well and transfer it to the bowl.
- Yummy cracked wheat halwa is ready.
NOTE:
- You can replace sugar with jaggery, but jaggery gives a healthier twist to the dessert.
- Roast till it becomes nice fragrant, it makes the sweet tastier.
- Garnish with more ghee and sliced nuts to make it more delicious.
