Dhokla is a vegetarian food item that originates from the Indian state of Gujarat. It is made with a fermented batter derived from rice and split chickpeas. Dhokla can be eaten for breakfast, as the main course, as a side dish, or as a snack.
Ingredients:
- Gits Dhokla mix 1 1/3 cup
- Water 1 cup
- Oil 2 tbsp
- For Tadka :
- 2 tsp
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Asafoetida
- Curry Leaves
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a bowl, add dhokla mix, oil and water and make it to a smooth batter.
- Grease the pan and egg mold. Pour the batter to it. (see the above video)
- Add 1 cup water to the bottom of the instant pot, add Trivet
- Place the egg mold and pan inside
- Set Steam for 10 minutes with Sealing Position - Open after Natural Pressure Release.
- Let it cool and transfer to the plate.
- Tadka on Stovetop
- Add 2 tbsp oil
- Add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, Asafoetida, and Curry leaves. When it splutters, spread it on Dhoklas.
- Yummy Dhoklas are Ready!
